The Library strives to balance the rights of users to access a wide range of information with the rights of users to work in a public environment free from harassment.  We ask you to remain sensitive to the fact that you are working in a public space shared by people of all ages, with a variety of information interests and needs. Please refer to the Policy Manual, Appendix E  for the complete Internet Terms of Use statement.

There are no downloading capabilities on library workstations outside of the electronic classrooms. Access to chat rooms and instant messaging is not permitted.

Parental Responsibility and Child Safety on the Internet

As with other Library materials, parents or guardians are responsible for supervising their children's selection of information on the Internet.

All workstations in designated children's areas access the Internet through commercial filtering software. While these filters block much of the material that may be considered inappropriate for children, filters are not 100% effective.   The Library suggests that parents work with their children as they explore.  Check the children's section of the library's website for recommended sites.
