
What is it?
- it's a practice reading session for children in grades 2-4 wanting to improve their reading skills in a safe, non-threatening environment
- it's a six week program, held once a week after school for "at-risk" readers
- its purpose is to improve reading confidence and build life-long readers. The program is NOT designed to teach children how to read
Teen Volunteers
As a Coast Capital Reading Buddies Volunteer, you are a role model to a young reader, practicing reading with your buddy and engaging in fun literacy activities.
Qualifications:How to Apply:
Parents and teens can fill out a paper application and hand it into the Youth Services Librarian at the desired location. Applications are handled on a first come first serve basis. You a not guaranteed a spot in the program, as spaces are limited. You will be contacted by the Youth Services Librarian if you have been selected for the program.

Program Location and Times
Fleetwood Library: Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00pm from October 12- November 16.
Guildford Library: Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30pm from November 2- December 7.
Newton Library: Fridays from 3:30-4:30pm from October 22-November 26
Strawberry Hill Library: Wednesdays from 3:30 -4:30pm from October 20-November 24.
