The library has thousands of volumes distributed throughout nine branches. If you have a suggestion for material to add to the library's collection, please fill out a Suggest New Items form online or at any library.

The library collection is a multimedia collection: books, periodicals, newspapers, videos, DVDs, CD-ROMs, CDs, books on tape, large print books, maps, microforms, and online information. The library also collects materials in other languages.

You may also borrow from other library systems.

  • In Greater Vancouver:  The Public Library InterLINK system allows you to access the collections of neighbouring library systems in the Lower Mainland. You can borrow in Surrey and return elsewhere or borrow elsewhere and return materials in Surrey.

  • In BCOne Card:  A library card from your home public library also opens the door to public libraries wherever you are in British Columbia.
